I think the advantages of having a CCTV camera is that firstly, it will reduce the crime rate since criminals are strongly discouraged to commit illegal acts because they are aware that their crime will be recorded. Another advantage is that if a crime is committed, it will be easier to identify the criminals from the recording of the CCTV cameras, making the search and arrest of the criminals easier.

My Reply

Although CCTV cameras can record crimes, as you said. There still will be a few blind spots. From these blind spots, criminals can use spray paint or any other way to stop the CCTVs from recording their crime. And CCTVs aren't perfect. They cannot unmasked a masked person. It is also a fact that public privacy will no longer be in existence if CCTVs are installed. Whats more, the cost of installing these CCTVs can be used to do other things more meaningful.
